MOV : യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അഹസ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ യോവാശിന്റെ ഇരുപത്തിമൂന്നാം ആണ്ടിൽ യേഹൂവിന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോവാഹാസ് യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായി ശമർയ്യയിൽ പതിനേഴു സംവത്സരം വാണു.
KJV : In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah king of Judah Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] seventeen years.
YLT : In the twenty and third year of Joash son of Ahaziah king of Judah, hath Jehoahaz son of Jehu reigned over Israel, in Samaria -- seventeen years,

ERVEN : Jehoahaz son of Jehu became king over Israel in Samaria. This was during the 23 year that Joash son of Ahaziah was king in Judah. Jehoahaz ruled 17 years.

MOV : അവൻ യഹോവെക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു; യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു പാപം ചെയ്യിച്ച നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ പാപങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുമാറാതെ അവയിൽ തന്നേ നടന്നു.
KJV : And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.
YLT : and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and goeth after the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, that he caused Israel to sin -- he turned not aside from it,

ERVEN : Jehoahaz did what the Lord said was wrong. He followed the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat who caused Israel to sin. Jehoahaz did not stop doing those things.

KJV : And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Ben-hadad the son of Hazael, all [their] days.
YLT : and the anger of Jehovah burneth against Israel, and He giveth them into the hand of Hazael king of Aram, and into the hand of Ben-Hadad son of Hazael, all the days.

ERVEN : Then the Lord was angry with Israel. He let King Hazael of Aram and Hazael's son Ben-Hadad gain control of Israel.

MOV : എന്നാൽ യെഹോവാഹാസ് യഹോവയോടു കൃപെക്കായി അപേക്ഷിച്ചു; അരാംരാജാവു യിസ്രായേലിനെ ഞെരുക്കിയ ഞെരുക്കം യഹോവ കണ്ടിട്ടു അവന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടു.
KJV : And Jehoahaz besought the LORD, and the LORD hearkened unto him: for he saw the oppression of Israel, because the king of Syria oppressed them.

ERVEN : Then Jehoahaz begged the Lord to help them, and the Lord listened to him. The Lord had seen the troubles of Israel and how the king of Aram troubled the Israelites.

MOV : യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു ഒരു രക്ഷകനെ കൊടുത്തതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ അരാമ്യരുടെ അധികാരത്തിൽനിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോയി; യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ പണ്ടത്തെപ്പോലെ തങ്ങളുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളിൽ വസിപ്പാൻ സംഗതിവന്നു.
KJV : (And the LORD gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime.

ERVEN : So the Lord sent a man to save Israel. The Israelites were free from the Arameans. So the Israelites went to their own homes, as they did before.

MOV : എങ്കിലും യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു പാപം ചെയ്യിച്ച യൊരോബെയാം ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ പാപങ്ങളെ അവർ വിട്ടുമാറാതെ അവയിൽ തന്നേ നടന്നു; അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠെക്കു ശമർയ്യയിൽ നീക്കം വന്നില്ല.
KJV : Nevertheless they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who made Israel sin, [but] walked therein: and there remained the grove also in Samaria.)
YLT : only, they have not turned aside from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, that he caused Israel to sin, therein they walked, and also, the shrine hath remained in Samaria, --

ERVEN : But the Israelites still did not stop committing the sins of the family of Jeroboam that caused Israel to sin. The Israelites continued committing the sins of Jeroboam. They also kept the Asherah poles in Samaria.

MOV : അവൻ യെഹോവാഹാസിന്നു അമ്പതു കുതിരച്ചേവകരെയും പത്തു രഥങ്ങളെയും പതിനായിരം കാലാളുകളെയും അല്ലാതെ മറ്റു യാതൊരു പടജ്ജനത്തെയും ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചില്ല; അരാംരാജാവു അവരെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു മെതിക്കളത്തിലെ പൊടിപോലെ ആക്കിയിരുന്നു.
KJV : Neither did he leave of the people to Jehoahaz but fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had made them like the dust by threshing.
YLT : for he left not to Jehoahaz of the people except fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen, for the king of Aram hath destroyed them, and maketh them as dust for threshing.

ERVEN : The king of Aram defeated Jehoahaz's army and destroyed most of the men in the army. He left only 50 horse soldiers, 10 chariots, and 10,000 foot soldiers. Jehoahaz's soldiers were like chaff blown away by the wind at the time of threshing.

KJV : Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

MOV : ആ കാലത്തു എലീശാ മരണഹേതുകമായ രോഗംപിടിച്ചു കിടന്നു; അപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ യോവാശ് അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു അവന്റെ മുഖത്തിന്മീതെ കുനിഞ്ഞു കരഞ്ഞു; എന്റെ പിതാവേ, എന്റെ പിതാവേ, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ തേരും തേരാളികളുമായുള്ളോവേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.
YLT : And Elisha hath been sick with his sickness in which he dieth, and come down unto him doth Joash king of Israel, and weepeth on his face, and saith, `My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and its horsemen.`

ERVEN : Elisha became sick, and later he died from this sickness. King Jehoash of Israel went to visit Elisha. Jehoash cried for him and said, "My father, my father! Is it time for the chariot of Israel and its horses? "

MOV : അപ്പോൾ അവൻ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവിനോടു നിന്റെ കൈ വില്ലിന്മേൽ വെക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ കൈവെച്ചപ്പോൾ എലീശാ തന്റെ കൈ രാജാവിന്റെ കൈമേൽ വെച്ചു.
KJV : And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand [upon it:] and Elisha put his hands upon the king’s hands.
YLT : And he saith to the king of Israel, `Place thy hand on the bow;` and he placeth his hand, and Elisha putteth his hands on the hands of the king,

MOV : കിഴക്കെ കിളിവാതിൽ തുറക്ക എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അതു തുറന്നപ്പോൾ: എയ്ക എന്നു എലീശാ പറഞ്ഞു. എയ്താറെ അവൻ: അതു യഹോവയുടെ ജയാസ്ത്രം, അരാമ്യർക്കു നേരെയുള്ള ജയാസ്ത്രം തന്നേ; നീ അഫേക്കിൽവെച്ചു അരാമ്യരെ തോല്പിച്ചു അശേഷം സംഹരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened [it.] Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the LORD’S deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed [them. ]
YLT : and saith, `Open the window eastward;` and he openeth, and Elisha saith, `Shoot,` and he shooteth; and he saith, `An arrow of salvation to Jehovah, and an arrow of salvation against Aram, and thou hast smitten Aram, in Aphek, till consuming.`
